New Delhi, 05 January (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended birthday greetings to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, wishing her good health and a long life. Sharing his message on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote, “My best wishes to Mamata Didi, Chief Minister of West Bengal, on her birthday. I pray for her good health and a long life.”

Mamata Banerjee, who was born on this day in 1955, is currently serving as the Chief Minister of West Bengal and holds the distinction of being the state’s first woman Chief Minister. She has held the position since May 20, 2011. Banerjee is also the founder and chairperson of the All India Trinamool Congress. Before becoming Chief Minister, she served as a Member of Parliament seven times and held cabinet portfolios including Railways, Coal, Mines, and Human Resource Development.
