Delhi Court Extends Judicial Custody of Yasir Ahmed Dar in Red Fort Blast Case

New Delhi, 05 January (H.S.): The Patiala House Court in Delhi has extended the judicial custody of Yasir Ahmed Dar, an accused in the Red Fort blast case, until January 16. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna passed the order today.Dar was previously sent to National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody on December 26, 2025.

A total of nine accused have been arrested in the case, and all are currently in custody. On November 18, the Patiala House Court had sent Danish alias Jaseer Bilal Wani, an associate of the suicide bomber Dr. Umar Nabi in the Red Fort blast case, to NIA custody.Danish was arrested by the NIA from Srinagar.

According to the NIA, Danish made technical modifications to drones and attempted to prepare rockets before the car bomb explosion. He played a key role in the conspiracy alongside Dr. Umar Nabi. Danish, a graduate in political science, was allegedly brainwashed by Umar Nabi to become a suicide bomber. In October 2024, Danish attended a doctor module at a mosque in Kulgam, after which he was taken to Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana.

The Red Fort blast occurred on November 10, 2025, near the Red Fort, resulting in the deaths of 13 people. The car used in the attack was registered in the name of Amir Rashid Ali.
