New Delhi, 05 January (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, paid heartfelt tributes to the late Kalyan Singh, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, former Governor of Rajasthan, and recipient of the Padma Vibhushan, on his birth anniversary.

Kalyan Singh, popularly known as 'Babuji', was born on January 5, 1932, and is remembered for his pivotal role in the Ram Mandir movement and as a symbol of principled governance.

Home Minister Amit Shah, in a post on the social media platform X, paid homage to Kalyan Singh, stating that Babuji was a stalwart nationalist who never compromised on the principles of protecting India’s heritage and cultural pride. Shah highlighted that Kalyan Singh, known for his crime-free administration in Uttar Pradesh, remained steadfast in his ideological values, even at the cost of relinquishing power. His commitment to public welfare and service continues to inspire.

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari remembered Kalyan Singh as a senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, offering humble salutations.

BJP National President J.P. Nadda recalled Kalyan Singh’s role as a vanguard of the Ram Mandir movement, a former Governor of Rajasthan, and a former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Nadda noted that Babuji dedicated his life to the upliftment of the poor and marginalized, and his contributions to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement are revered. He emphasized that Kalyan Singh’s efforts in expanding the party and serving the people remain a source of inspiration for millions of workers.

BJP National Working President Nitin Nabin described Kalyan Singh as a towering figure in Indian politics, a fierce nationalist, and a devoted follower of Lord Ram, offering his respects and stating that Babuji’s ideal life will continue to strengthen the commitment to national service.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hailed Kalyan Singh as a pillar of integrity in Indian politics and a source of inspiration for party workers. She stated that Babuji’s life was an exemplary model of ideological commitment, principled leadership, and effective administration. His sacrifice of power for the Ram Mandir symbolized unwavering dedication and faith in the nation’s dharma. She emphasized that Babuji empowered the last person in society and championed the ideals of Antyodaya and nation-first.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered floral tributes to Kalyan Singh’s portrait in Lucknow, stating that Babuji’s tenure will always be remembered for good governance, development, and a nationalist mission. He noted that Babuji’s name is synonymous with the welfare of Uttar Pradesh, and his sacred memories deserve reverence.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav described Kalyan Singh as a leader who dedicated his life to the nation’s progress, good governance, and the welfare of the poor, remembering his unforgettable contribution to the Ram Mandir movement.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recalled Kalyan Singh as the guiding force behind the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and a guardian of Sanatan culture. He stated that Babuji’s powerful ideas will continue to guide society.
