New Delhi, 24 January (H.S.): In her first public address since fleeing Bangladesh in August 2024, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unleashed a scathing diatribe against Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus on Friday, labeling him a murderous fascist, money launderer, and corrupt power-hungry traitor who has plunged the nation into terror, lawlessness, and democratic exile.

Delivered via pre-recorded audio message to a gathering at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of South Asia in New Delhi—titled Save Democracy in Bangladesh—Hasina's speech, attended by Awami League loyalists and Bangladeshi diaspora members, framed the current interim government as a foreign-serving puppet regime born of a meticulously engineered conspiracy on August 5, 2024.

Demands for Regime Change and Justice

Hasina accused Yunus of bleeding the nation dry through plunder and betrayal, pushing Bangladesh toward the furnace of a multinational conflict by allegedly bartering sovereignty for foreign interests, transforming the country into a vast prison, an execution ground, a valley of death.

She rallied supporters to overthrow the administration, restore order, end street violence, protect minorities and women, halt politically motivated prosecutions, and launch a United Nations-led probe into the 2024 upheaval.

Asserting international solidarity, Hasina declared, The international community stands with you, and warned that upcoming elections would lack fairness under Yunus's rule, invoking Bangladesh's 1971 Liberation War legacy to galvanize unity against extremism and chaos.
