North 24 Paragnas, 02 January (H.S.): Two separate incidents of sexual assault have resulted in arrests in North 24 Parganas district, with both accused being produced in court on Friday.

The first incident took place in Hingalganj, North 24 Parganas. The complaint alleged that on Thursday evening, January 1st, a 14-year-old girl was alone at home. Her parents were not there. Taking advantage of this, the elderly neighbor went to the girl's house. The victim's family alleged that the accused asked her to open the door, saying he had something to talk about. The minor girl opened the door. She said her parents were not home and asked him to wait. The complaint alleged that the accused then took her inside and raped her.

Upon returning home and hearing everything from their daughter, the parents filed a complaint at the police station. Hingalganj police arrested the accused on Thursday night. On Friday, the minor girl was sent to the hospital for a medical examination. The arrested man was produced before the Basirhat Sub-Divisional Court. According to police sources, the minor girl's confidential statement will be recorded.
