New Delhi, 14 January (H.S.): The prize distribution ceremony for the 26th National Youth Parliament Competition 2024-25 for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas will take place here on Thursday, January 15. According to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal will preside over the event at the Mavalankar Auditorium in the Constitution Club of India.

During the ceremony, the Minister will honor students and schools that excelled in the competition. Students from PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Suratgarh (Sri Ganganagar-II, Rajasthan), will reenact the Youth Parliament, having secured first place along with the running parliamentary shield and trophy.The Ministry stated that the competition for the 2024-25 academic year was organized among 88 schools spread across eight regions of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

For the past 29 years, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has conducted the Youth Parliament competition in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to foster self-discipline, tolerance for diverse opinions, democratic values, decorous expression of ideas, and understanding of parliamentary procedures among students.

Seven other schools that secured first position at the regional level will also receive merit trophies. These include PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Valsad (Gujarat); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ambedkar Nagar (Uttar Pradesh); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Shimla (Himachal Pradesh); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Birbhum (West Bengal); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Golaghat (Assam); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Medak (Telangana); and PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mahasamund (Chhattisgarh).
