Guwahati (Assam), 03 September (HS): Acting on a tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police seized a red Hyundai i10 car (MN-01AW-2641) in Amingaon, Kamrup (Rural) district and recovered heroin weighing 910 grams concealed inside 74 soap boxes.

According to Assam Police Headquarters, the consignment was being transported from Churachandpur in Manipur. The seized heroin is estimated to be worth around ₹8 crore in the black market.

Two accused smugglers from Manipur — identified as Gogou Suantak (33) and Seilun Vaiphei (39) — were arrested during the operation. Police have registered an FIR and further investigation is underway.--------
