New Delhi, August 6 (H.S.): The domestic stock market faced pressure during early trading today with a weak start. However, buying support pushed the Sensex and Nifty indices into positive territory briefly before selling pressure caused them to dip back into negative territory.

By 10 AM, the Sensex was down 0.04 percent and the Nifty down 0.11 percent. Key stocks showing gains included Bharti Airtel, SBI Life Insurance, Kotak Mahindra, Trent Limited, and Asian Paints, with increases between 0.51 and 0.92 percent. Conversely, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, HCL Technology, Hero MotoCorp, Coal India, and Infosys saw declines of 1.08 to 1.23 percent.

A total of 2,366 shares were actively traded, with 833 shares in profit while 1,533 shares faced losses. Among the 30 shares in the Sensex, 14 remained in the green and 16 in the red. In the Nifty, out of 50 shares, 21 were in positive territory and 29 in the negative. At the start of trading, the BSE Sensex opened down 15.27 points at 80,694.98 points, bouncing to 80,834.43 points shortly afterward due to buying before retreating again.

By 10 AM, it was at 80,674.79 points, a decline of 35.46 points. The Nifty opened down 8.20 points at 24,641.35 points, rose briefly before declining again, trading down 27.35 points at 24,622.20 points by 10 AM. On the previous trading day, the Sensex and Nifty had also ended in the red.
