Quetta, Balochistan, August 18(HS): The Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS), an umbrella organization of Baloch armed groups, has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks across Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province, saying it killed 24 Pakistani soldiers and several pro-government agents between August 10 and 15.

In a statement to media, BRAS spokesperson Baloch Khan said the insurgents carried out 71 separate operations targeting military camps, convoys, police stations, and so‑called “death squads” linked to the state.

According to details reported by The Balochistan Post, the single largest assault was mounted in Basima, where fighters stormed a military camp and allegedly killed at least 13 soldiers, including an army captain. Militants also briefly seized control of a Levies station, set fire to multiple government offices, and destroyed vehicles.

BRAS also claimed responsibility for an IED blast in Gwadar’s New Town, which struck a military convoy and killed two soldiers. Additional attacks were reported in Quetta, Kech, Panjgur, Awaran, Sibi, Dera Bugti, and Nasirabad, where militants said they used rockets and grenade launchers against army outposts.

The group confirmed the loss of one of its own fighters, Hasil Murad alias Sarban Baloch, who was killed in clashes with a state-backed militia in the Zhao region.

The claims could not be independently verified, and Pakistan’s security forces have not yet issued an official response. Balochistan has witnessed a decades‑long separatist insurgency, with militants frequently targeting government installations and security convoys in the resource-rich but volatile province.
