New Delhi, August 18 (H.S.): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on Monday released a book based on the life of former Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Ramesh Prakash. Speaking on the occasion, he said that an RSS worker remains consistent in both ideals and conduct, and Ramesh Prakash was a shining example of this principle.
The book, “Tan Samarpit, Man Samarpit” authored by Suruchi Prakash, chronicles the life of Ramesh Prakash, who guided the RSS in Delhi. The release ceremony took place at the NDMC Auditorium in Delhi and was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, India Today Vice Chairperson Kali Puri, and Ramesh Prakash’s wife Asha Sharma, who also joined the dignitaries on stage.
Addressing the gathering after unveiling the book, Dr. Bhagwat remarked that knowledge alone does not bring about transformation in hearts and minds; true change arises when ideals are lived out in conduct. He expressed pride that, for the past 100 years, thousands of RSS volunteers like Ramesh Prakash have actively demonstrated this in their dedicated service to society.
He emphasized that walking the path of ideals is always difficult. While common people often revere and worship exemplary figures, they hesitate to follow their path. In such situations, society needs a guiding hand—someone who not only preaches but also walks alongside to uplift others. Ramesh Prakashji dedicated his entire life to this very mission, Bhagwat said.
On the same occasion, the RSS chief also highlighted the role of women in the Sangh’s ecosystem. He noted that the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti works in parallel with the RSS, mobilizing women across diverse dimensions of Sangh-inspired social service. He added that women’s participation in national-level RSS meetings is steadily rising, affirming the inclusive nature of the organization’s work.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised the contribution of Ramesh Prakash in public life, underscoring the timeless relevance of his values in guiding future generations toward service to society. Kali Puri, while commending the book, described it as a timely reminder of the immense importance of personal sacrifice in the mission of nation-building. She also emphasized the relevance of the philosophy of Pancha Parivartan (fivefold transformation). The book, she said, captures the relentless journey of Ramesh Prakash—a life dedicated wholly to selfless service, social welfare, and the upliftment of the nation.
