However, no legislative business took place as the Opposition called for the scrapping of the Bihar Special Intensive Revision by the Election Commission. Amid heavy sloganeering, the Lok Sabha was adjourned shortly after commencing and was set to reconvene at 2 PM.
Chair Krishna Prasad Tenetti oversaw proceedings, despite refusing to entertain discussions on the Bihar issue. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal listed Bills for consideration, including the Anti-doping Bill and extensions of President’s Rule in Manipur. Ultimately, the House was adjourned for the day due to ongoing protests, with both Houses resuming on August 4.
