Delhi, 3 August (H.S.): Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) signed a crucial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the “Industry 4.0 Workshop for CPSEs” in Guwahati, aimed at accelerating India’s digital transformation and industrial modernization.
The workshop included senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and various CPSEs, focusing on empowering these enterprises to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies like 5G CNPN, Digital Twins, and Big Data Analytics. The MoU will facilitate the deployment of India’s first 5G Captive Non-Public Network (CNPN) in the refinery sector, enhancing secure, reliable industrial connectivity. This initiative aligns with the Government’s Whole of Government approach, promoting industrial modernization and job creation, especially in the North Eastern Region.
NRL's CMD noted the 5G integration would improve operational efficiency and enable innovative technologies such as AR/VR for training and real-time applications. BSNL’s CMD highlighted the commitment to delivering next-gen digital infrastructure, marking a technological leap in industrial operations.
The collaboration symbolizes a historic milestone in adopting 5G and Industry 4.0 across India’s industrial landscape, with the potential to create models for other sectors and reinforce the vision of a digitally empowered, self-reliant Bharat.
