He won decisively in 56 minutes with a score of 6-2, 6-3, and noted the significance of the win after previously losing to Mannarino twice. Shelton dominated the first set, breaking Mannarino's serve twice, and maintained control in the second set despite a minor challenge during the final game, finishing with a powerful ace. He emphasized the importance of precision when serving against Mannarino's skilled shot-making.

Meanwhile, Andrey Rublev recorded his 250th career hardcourt win by defeating Hugo Gaston 6-2, 6-3 in 86 minutes, advancing to face Lorenzo Sonego, who defeated Yunchaokete Bu.
