Corporation has started a special skill development training programme for women

in prostitution. The training programme aimed at their rehabilitation is being

implemented through the Social Welfare Department. The training programme is

getting an enthusiastic response from the sex workers.

The skill development programme includes digital

awareness, various vocations for earning a livelihood. The training is being

imparted through the All India Institute of Local Self Government, for sex

workers in the Turbhe region. The women are being trained in tailoring, as beauticians,

Mehendi designing, etc. A social organisation, 'Kshamata', has made the space

available for conducting the training programme. So far, 61 women have participated

in the training programme.
