New Delhi, June 1 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with ADB president Masato Kanda at his residence, where Kanda pledged $10 billion for urban infrastructure in India over five years. This investment aims to enhance various urban projects, including municipal infrastructure, Metro extensions, and new RRTS corridors. The ADB supports Modi's Viksit Bharat vision for 2047, emphasizing collaboration to aid India's development goals.

Kanda highlighted the need for increased public and private financing and knowledge sharing to support inclusive growth for India's population of 1.4 billion. The ADB has worked with over 110 cities on water, sanitation, housing, and waste management projects, maintaining an urban portfolio of 27 loans totaling $5.15 billion.
