New Delhi, June 1 (H.S.): May 2025 recorded the lowest pollution levels since 2018, with an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 170, categorized as 'moderate.' The Air Quality Management Commission noted that previous May AQIs were 217 in 2018, 221 in 2019, 212 in 2022, 171 in 2023, and 223 in 2024, excluding the COVID-19 years.
From January to May 2025, the average AQI improved to 214, down from 231 in 2024, with no days exceeding an AQI of 400. Previous years had 3, 7, 2, 5, 1, 3, and 3 such days, respectively. The commission is enhancing collaboration to combat air pollution and improve air quality in Delhi-NCR.
