Delhi, 1 June (H.S.): The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI)on Saturday seized 9.72 kg of Methamphetamine valued at Rs. 9.72 crore from a Mahindra XUV500 in Seling, Mizoram, on the Aizawl-Champhai Highway. The drugs were concealed in 10 packets within a cavity in the rear seat. One person has been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The investigation indicates the drugs were smuggled from Myanmar through the Zokhawthar sector. Since January 2025, DRI has seized over Rs. 72 crore worth of Methamphetamine and Heroin in Mizoram, arresting seven individuals.
