New Delhi, June 1 (H.S.): Heavy rainfall in northeastern states has disrupted normal life and led to loss of life and property. Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with the Chief Ministers of Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Governor of Manipur, expressing concern and assuring assistance. The Modi government pledged support to the people of the Northeast. Severe floods and landslides have claimed at least 32 lives, with significant destruction in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Mizoram. Relief efforts are ongoing amidst expectations of more rainfall.
