Mumbai, 09 May (HS): The developmental works planned for Nagpur Mahanagar should be started as soon as possible. The Performance
Gallery at Orange City Project, Zero Mile beautification, Cotton Market
development, Fule Market (Flower Market), and the shifting of Central Jail are
important issues in the development plan. The agencies concerned should
coordinate for effective and faster execution of the plan, said Chief Minister
Devendra Fadnavis.
Fadnavis chaired a meeting with Nagpur Municipal Corporation
and Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation at the Sahyadri
Guest House in Mumbai. Revenue Minister and Nagpur Guardian Minister
Chandrashekhar Bawankule, officers of the relevant departments, were present.
The Zero Mile development plan prepared by NMC was
cleared by Fadnavis. An Experience Centre demonstrating the picture of Akhand
Bharat and how Nagpur became the centre of the nation will be developed at the
Zero Mile Park.The development plan
worth Rs 45 crore will have illumination using natural light, adequate parking
space for the visitors, and a museum.
Bawankule said that houses for about 7,000
contractual workers will be constructed in Kamptee under the Pradhan Mantri
Awas Yojana. The MSIDC should start providing basic
facilities in the area. The land where the government printing press is located
will be made available for the regional office of the Civic Supplies Department.
