Mumbai, 07 May (HS): Gadchiroli’s Gondwana
University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lloyd Metals and
Energy and Australia’s Curtin University at Mumbai’s Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
were present.
Australia’s Commercial Counsul General Paul Murphy,
Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Mark Ogden, Gondwana University VC Dr
Prashant Bokare, Managing Director of Lloyd Metals B Prabhakaran, Higher and
Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, ex-minister Sudhir Mungantiwar,
MLC Parinay Phuke and others were present.
The MoU relates to the establishment of a University
Technical Institute to train youths in metallurgy, mining, and computer science
and other related subjects in engineering. The Gondwana and Curtin universities
will conduct twinning degree courses.
