New Delhi, May 7 (H.S.): A mock drill was conducted on Wednesday in various hospitals including Safdarjung, RML, and LNJP under civil defense in the capital. During this time, the real-time presence of key personnel in the emergency department was ensured. All instructions for the mock drill were followed. The drill started at 4 PM in the hospitals and practiced rapid treatment management for injured individuals in emergency situations during war.

Dr. Amlendhu Yadav, Head of Emergency Medicine at RML Hospital, stated that a mass casualty mock drill simulating a bomb explosion scenario was organized. About 15-20 seriously injured victims were included in this exercise. It included general medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, burns and plastic surgery, critical care medicine, radiodiagnosis, CT, MRI, and emergency imaging. The drill was designed not only to assess preparedness but also to identify system shortcomings. A comprehensive report is being prepared that includes corrective and preventive actions.

A mock drill was also conducted at Safdarjung Hospital. The hospital administration stated that they are fully prepared and equipped to handle any adverse situation. The disaster management committee is ready to tackle emergency situations with comprehensive protocols and resources.

Dr. Praveen Gupta, Director of Fortis Hospital, commented that this mock drill is just part of the preparation. There is no need for people to be alarmed. Mock drills not only strengthen the country's security system but also highlight the crucial role of health services in maintaining public health and safety during emergencies.
