New Delhi, May 7 (HS): Pakistan's propaganda machinery has ramped up its efforts in response to India's military operation 'Operation Sindoor.' Following this decisive operation, Pakistan launched an aggressive campaign of disinformation.

The Indian government dismissed these misleading claims as desperate attempts to divert attention. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting noted that while the Indian Armed Forces conducted a precise operation, Pakistan-backed social media accounts and certain political figures propagated fake news, including fictional military victories and counter-actions.

Fact-checking by PIB clarified that viral images, falsely alleging the downing of an Indian Rafale aircraft, were actually from unrelated incidents. A misleading video claimed the Indian army raised a white flag in surrender at the Chora post, a false narrative supported by Pakistani minister Atta Ullah Tarar, who later confirmed it without evidence. Further disinformation included claims about the Pakistan Air Force targeting Srinagar, which was actually footage from unrelated communal clashes in Pakistan.

Additionally, fabricated assertions about Pakistan destroying an Indian brigade headquarters were debunked. Khawaja Asif, Pakistan's Defense Minister, falsely claimed the capture of Indian soldiers, which he later recanted when no evidence surfaced. These coordinated misinformation efforts highlight Pakistan's attempts to distort global discourse and confuse the public following India's successful operation, aiming to obscure the truth and propagate an illusion of strength.
