Washington, May 14(HS): U.S. President Donald Trump has once again called on the Federal Reserve (Fed) to cut interest rates. He stated that the prices of gas, energy, groceries, and almost everything have declined, and therefore the Fed should now lower rates.
Late Tuesday night, Trump wrote on his social media platform 'Truth Social', There is now no inflation, and the prices for gasoline, energy, groceries, and almost everything have gone down! The Fed should now lower rates, just like Europe and China have done.
Once again targeting Fed Chair Jerome Powell, he said, What happened to Powell? This is an injustice to America, which is now ready to bloom completely. Let it happen; it will be a beautiful thing!
Trump has previously criticized the Federal Reserve's monetary policy multiple times. He believes that lowering interest rates will strengthen the U.S. economy, especially at a time when several major countries in the world have already reduced rates.
However, the Federal Reserve has not indicated so far that it will cut rates in the near future. To control inflation, the Fed has already raised rates several times.
