Guwahati, 11 May (HS): Counting of votes for Panchayat elections in Assam has started from 8 am on Sunday. Counting of votes is being done today at 39 places in a total of 27 districts of the state.

Let us tell you that the Panchayat elections were held in two phases on 2 and 7 May. The voting process was held in 14 districts in the first phase and in 13 districts in the second phase.

Results of various districts are expected to come out in today's counting, which will clear the picture of leadership at the rural level. Tight security arrangements have also been made.
