Karachi, April 3 (H.S.):

Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari, aged 69, tested positive for coronavirus and is currently in isolation, as confirmed by his physician, Dr. Asim Hussain. He was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi after experiencing respiratory issues and fever following a trip to Nawabshah, where he offered Eid prayers. His health is being monitored by a team of experts, and reports indicate that his condition is improving.

His physician, Dr Asim Hussain, told the media that Zardari had contracted coronavirus. “This was confirmed after multiple tests, and he has now been placed in isolation,” he said.

Zardari has a history of health problems, having previously tested positive for COVID-19 in July 2022 with mild symptoms.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached out to inquire about Zardari's health and extended his wishes for a speedy recovery.
