Chepauk (Chennai), April 25 (H.S.): In an exciting match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 held at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured their third victory of the season by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. Harshal Patel turned the game around by taking 4 wickets. Hyderabad won the match with 8 balls to spare.
Chasing a target of 155 runs, Hyderabad suffered a major setback in the very first over. Khaleel Ahmed dismissed Abhishek Sharma for a duck, giving the team an early lead. Travis Head (19) and Heinrich Klaasen (7) also returned to the pavilion quickly. Ishan Kishan played a crucial innings of 44 runs, but Noor Ahmed dismissed him and Aniket Verma (19), reviving Chennai's hopes.
However, in the end, Nitish Reddy (19) and Kamindu Mendis (32) played smartly, leading the team to victory by 5 wickets with 8 balls remaining. Both remained not out.
Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai had a very poor start. Mohammad Shami dismissed Sheikh Rashid for a duck on the very first ball. Sam Curran (6), Ayush Mhatre (30), Deepak Hooda (22), and Ravindra Jadeja (21) provided small contributions, but none were able to play a big innings.
Dewald Brevis was the top scorer with 42 runs. MS Dhoni, playing his 400th T20 match, could only manage 6 runs. The entire team could only score 154 runs in 20 overs.

Harshal Patel was the most successful bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad, taking four wickets and breaking the backbone of Chennai's batting. Pat Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat took two wickets each, while Mohammad Shami and Kamindu Mendis claimed one wicket each.
