New Delhi, April 20 (H.S.): A multinational air war exercise 'Desert Flag' involving air forces from a dozen countries will commence on Monday at the Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. A contingent from the Indian Air Force arrived in the UAE on Sunday to participate in this exercise, which will feature MiG-29 and Jaguar aircraft.
According to the Air Force, the Desert Flag exercise is a multinational exercise organized by the UAE Air Force, which will include not just the Indian Air Force, but also contingents from Australia, Bahrain, France, Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Republic of Korea, Turkey, UAE, United Kingdom, and the United States. The exercise is scheduled to take place from April 21 to May 8.
The objective of this exercise is to conduct complex and diverse combat missions while exchanging operational knowledge and best practices with some of the world's most capable air forces. Participation in such exercises enhances mutual understanding and interoperability, strengthening military cooperation among the participating nations. The Indian Air Force's involvement in this exercise reflects India's commitment to strengthen defense ties and interoperability with friendly countries.
