Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Slams Bengal Government Over Murshidabad Violence, Criticizes Silence of Administration

Kolkata, 15 April (H.S.) -Senior Congress leader and former MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has strongly criticized the West Bengal government and state administration over the recent spate of violence in Murshidabad district. Speaking after visiting the injured victims, Chowdhury expressed outrage at the perceived inaction and silence of the authorities in the wake of the unrest.

Several people are battling for their lives in hospitals, and yet the state government remains indifferent. There is no sign of empathy or proactive response from the administration, said Chowdhury, highlighting the gravity of the situation and the lack of governmental accountability.

While police patrolling continues in the violence-hit areas, including Dhulian and Samsherganj, and senior officials remain stationed on the ground, Chowdhury questioned the effectiveness of these measures. Loudspeaker announcements urging peace are being made across marketplaces, and both the Director General and Additional Director General of Police have taken to the streets to appeal for calm.

Despite these efforts, an atmosphere of fear and mistrust continues to pervade among residents. Many victims have voiced concerns over their safety and expressed skepticism about the government’s assurances.

It is noteworthy that recent violent clashes in various parts of Murshidabad have resulted in multiple casualties and left several people seriously injured. The situation remains tense, with the local population demanding more decisive action and accountability from the state government.
