New Delhi, 31 March (H.S.): NITI Aayog, alongside the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), has launched a new portal designed to serve as a comprehensive repository of data on social, economic, and fiscal parameters. This initiative covers approximately 30 years of information from 1990-91 to 2022-23. The “NITI NCAER States Economic Forum” portal is set to be inaugurated by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on April 1, 2025, in New Delhi.
The portal consists of four key components:
1. State Reports- Summaries of the macro and fiscal landscapes for 28 Indian states based on various indicators.
2. Data Repository - Direct access to a categorized database across five sectors: Demography, Economic Structure, Fiscal, Health, and Education.
3. State Fiscal and Economic Dashboard - Graphical displays of key economic variables and access to detailed data.
4. Research and Commentary - Extensive analyses on state finances and fiscal policy.
Overall, it aims to enhance understanding of socio-economic trends, provide consolidated data, and foster informed discussions amongst policymakers and researchers. The portal will serve as a vital research hub for evidence-based policy formulation.
