New Delhi, March 25 (H.S.): On Tuesday, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, George Kurien, stated ,our country is steadily progressing on the path of continuous development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Our country is consistently demonstrating its economic strength internationally and is rapidly moving toward its goal of becoming an economic superpower. The minority community in our country is fully participating in the development of the nation.

Minister George Kurien was addressing the inaugural session of the annual conference of state minority commissions at the Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi under the auspices of the National Minority Commission. He mentioned that the minorities in our country are completely safe. The case of the persecution of Hindu and Christian minorities in our neighboring country Pakistan is well-known. Issues concerning Muslim minorities in China, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka regularly come to light. Reports of atrocities against Hindu and Buddhist minorities in our neighboring country Bangladesh are also emerging. What has recently happened to the minority community there is not hidden from anyone.

He further stated that all the schemes implemented by the government for the majority community are also benefiting the minority community. Whether it is the case of Mudra loans, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Ujjwala scheme, or other schemes of the Government of India, all are yielding benefits for the minority community. Additionally, the benefits of the Prime Minister's 15-point program and the schemes created for the upliftment of minorities are fully being utilized by the minority community. He emphasized that numerous schemes are being run through the Modi government at the center for the educational and economic development of the minority community, which is allowing them to participate in the development of the nation.

On this occasion, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, the Chairman of the National Minority Commission, stated that the population of minorities in our country is increasing day by day. This indicates that the minority community is being treated well in our country. He added that in other neighboring countries, the population of minority communities is declining day by day, and there are ongoing reports of persecution and discrimination against minorities.

Throughout this day-long conference, various sessions will discuss the upliftment, development, and conditions of the country's minority community. The chairpersons and other officials of state minority commissions are participating in the event.
