New Delhi, March 25 (HS): The domestic stock market is showing a positive trend in early trading today, with an initial rise quickly followed by a brief decline due to profit booking. However, this was short-lived as buyers stepped in, pushing both the Sensex and Nifty indices higher.

By 10 AM, the Sensex had risen 0.92% to 78,703.97 points, while the Nifty was up 0.83% to 23,854.95 points. Among major stocks, Ultratech Cement, HCL Technologies, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, and TCS reported gains between 1.92% and 2.76%. Conversely, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, IndusInd Bank, Shriram Finance, Hindalco Industries, and Bajaj Auto saw declines ranging from 0.86% to 2.54%.

A total of 2,435 shares were actively traded, with 1,175 in the green and 1,260 in the red. From the 30 Sensex stocks, 26 were gaining, while 4 were losing. In the Nifty, 36 out of 50 stocks showed gains. The Sensex initially opened at 78,296.28 points, dropping to 78,085.53 due to selling pressure before rebounding.

The Nifty opened at 23,751.50 points, fell to 23,664.90 points but recovered thereafter. On the previous trading day, the Sensex closed at 77,984.38 points, gaining 1,078.87 points (1.40%), while the Nifty finished at 23,658.35 points, up by 307.95 points (1.32%).
