Greater Noida/New Delhi, 23 March (H.S.): World Champion and Arjuna Awardee Nitu Ghanghas from Haryana put forth an impressive performance on Day 2 of the 8th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championship 2025, achieving a unanimous victory against Anjali Choudhary of Rajasthan in the Minimumweight category (45-48kg). Other notable participants, including Jaismine Lamboria and Sakshi from the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), also advanced with commanding wins. Jaismine triumphed over Uttar Pradesh's Ice Prajapati, while Sakshi secured a 5:0 win against Punjab's Sandeep Kaur, highlighting SSCB's strong presence.
The BFI, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Boxing Association, is hosting the championship at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, which will conclude on March 27. Roughly 200 boxers from 24 state units are competing across ten weight categories, adhering to World Boxing Technical & Competition Rules.
Anamika Hooda (Railways) continued her dominant form with a first-round stoppage over Andhra Pradesh’s Manasa Veni Anakapalli. Notable victories were also recorded by Youth World Champion Devika Ghorpade, Kunjarani Devi, Sarita Rai, Minakshi, and Savita, making for a thrilling day filled with powerful bouts.
