New Delhi, March 23 (H.S.): Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has made a significant change to its team ahead of the start of their campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The franchise has included all-rounder Shardul Thakur in their squad. Team bowler Mohsin Khan has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. As a result, LSG has added Shardul in place of Mohsin. This information was disclosed in a statement released on the official website of the IPL on Sunday.

According to the IPL statement, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has signed Shardul Thakur as a replacement for left-arm fast bowler Mohsin Khan, who is unable to participate in the 18th season of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) due to injury. The experienced all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been contracted at his reserve price of ₹2 crore from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP).

Shardul's IPL Performance

Shardul did not sell during the IPL 2025 mega auction, but now Lucknow has included him in their team at his base price. Shardul has had a good IPL record so far. He has played for five teams in the IPL. Shardul has been part of the Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rising Pune Supergiants, and Punjab Kings. He has played 95 matches in this league so far, taking 94 wickets and scoring 307 runs at a strike rate of 138.92.

LSG will begin their IPL 2025 campaign on Monday, March 24, against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam.
