Lucknow/New Delhi, 23 March (H.S.): Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, will lead the nationwide movement ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ today on 23rd March 2025, aiming to combat obesity. He will be joined by Uttar Pradesh Governor, Anandiben Patel, and Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, Girish Chandra Yadav. Dr. Mandaviya will cycle 3 kilometres from Marine Drive (Samajik Parivartan Sthal) to various chaurahas, leading over 400 cyclists to promote Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of a healthy lifestyle.

In Mumbai, Asian Games medalist javelin thrower Kishore Jena will join the initiative at Aksa Beach alongside the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI) in New Delhi. So far, the cycling drive has been conducted at 4200 locations, with around 2 lakh participants, and it emphasizes environmentally friendly practices to reduce air pollution nationwide.

The initiative sees participation from cycling enthusiasts, athletes, coaches, and sports science experts, while previous events featured Indian Armed Forces, police forces, and sports stars like Lovlina Borgohain and celebrities including Rahul Bose. The event is organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), in conjunction with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) and other partners.
