Florida,

19 March (HS): Indian-origin astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore

associated with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have

returned to Earth. They have successfully landed on the coast of Florida.

SpaceX Crew-9 has returned to Earth with both the astronauts. These two

astronauts of NASA had gone on a mission of just eight days. Due to technical

fault, both were stuck in space for nine months and 13 days. NASA has written

on its website - Welcome home! NASA's SpaceX Crew-9 has returned to Earth

after the science mission.

Now

everyone will meet their families: According to the NASA website, Nick Hague,

Sunita Williams, Butch Wilmore and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov

returned to Earth at 5:57 p.m. Eastern Time. Teams aboard SpaceX recovery ships

retrieved the spacecraft and its crew. After returning to shore, the crew will

fly to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. There everyone will meet their

families. NASA's SpaceX Crew-9 completed the agency's ninth commercial crew

rotation mission to the International Space Station on Tuesday. It landed

safely in a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft off the Tallahassee coast of Florida in

the US Gulf.

Janet

Petro said- this was possible because of Trump: NASA Acting Administrator Janet

Petro said, We are thrilled to have Sunita, Butch, Nick and Alexander

safely back home. She said that a month of hard work by NASA and SpaceX

on the instructions of President Donald Trump paid off. The international crew

and our teams on Earth worked hard to bring everyone back home. Such NASA

missions are for the benefit of humanity. Hague and Gorbunov took off on a

SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space

Force Station in Florida at 1:17 pm on September 28, 2024. The next day they

docked on the forward port of the station's Harmony module. Sunita Williams and

Wilmore were launched on Boeing's Starliner spacecraft and United Launch

Alliance Atlas V rocket on June 5, 2024 from Space Launch Complex 41 as part of

the agency's Boeing Crew Flight Test. Both arrived at the space station on June

6.

Traveled

121,347,491 miles during the mission: It is reported that Sunita Williams and

Wilmore traveled 121,347,491 miles during their mission, spent 286 days in

space and completed 4,576 orbits around the Earth. Hague and Gorbunov traveled

72,553,920 miles during their mission, spent 171 days in space and completed

2,736 orbits around the Earth. Hague has spent 374 days in space in his two

missions and Williams has spent 608 days in space in his three flights. Wilmore

has spent 464 days in space in his three flights.

Space

Angel did two spacewalks: Sunita Williams conducted two spacewalks. Wilmore

accompanied her in one and Hague in the other. Over 150 unique scientific

experiments were conducted with over 900 hours of research in space. This

research included investigations on plant growth and quality, as well as the

potential of stem cell technology to address blood diseases, autoimmune

disorders, and cancer. They also tested lighting to help astronauts maintain

circadian rhythms. They took samples from the exterior of the space station to

study whether microorganisms could survive in space.

Celebrations

in Sunita's native village: After the completion of the orbit burn process at

3.27 am Indian time, as soon as the space angel landed on the coast of Florida,

celebrations began in Sunita Williams' native village in Gujarat. Sunita

Williams, who returned safely to Earth after creating history, was welcomed by

a group of dolphins swimming in the sea. When her capsule landed in the water,

there were a large number of dolphins around her. After this, she was taken out

of the capsule by the recovery vessel.

Prime

Minister Modi invited her to visit India: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi

has written a letter to Sunita Williams inviting her to visit India. This

letter, written on March 1 and sent through former NASA astronaut Mike

Massimino, was shared on X by Union Science and Technology Minister Jitendra

Singh. Prime Minister Modi said in the letter that even though you are

thousands of miles away, you are close to our hearts. The people of India are

praying for your good health and success in your mission. We are looking

forward to meeting you in India after your return. It will be a pleasure for

India to host one of its most brilliant daughters.
