Raipur, March 18 (H.S.): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister

Vishnu Deo Sai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss the development of Chhattisgarh, particularly focusing on the Bastar region. During their extensive conversation, Sai presented a master plan aimed at improving naxalite-affected areas by providing basic amenities, establishing industries, and promoting tourism.

The Prime Minister responded favorably, assuring state support. Chief Minister Sai noted that naxalism is in its final phase in Chhattisgarh, attributing this to coordinated efforts from security forces and community engagement, which have fostered development in previously strongholds. He emphasized that the government is now directing efforts to transform Bastar into a new industrial and economic hub, thus creating job opportunities and enhancing the living standards of local tribal communities.

Furthermore, Sai discussed the state's new industrial policy which has garnered investor interest, highlighting the introduction of single-window clearance and tax benefits to attract major companies. He reiterated the government's commitment to women and rural empowerment, detailing efforts to support women through self-help groups aimed at fostering economic independence. These initiatives include promoting minor forest produce, organic farming, and handicrafts, enabling women to contribute significantly to the local economy.

Additionally, Sai provided an update on preparations for Prime Minister Modi's visit to Chhattisgarh on March 30, during which several key development projects are set to be inaugurated. The Chief Minister detailed the advancements in ongoing development schemes across the state.
