NEW DELHI, 15 March (H.S.) : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with Parvesh Verma

and other ministers, expressed deep emotions while honouring the memory of

former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma on his birth anniversary. They

reflected on his vision for enhancing the beauty of Delhi, noting that he had

initiated several projects that the current government is now committed to

completing. Parvesh Verma, Sahib Singh Verma's son and a serving minister,

emphasized that advancing Delhi is a way to realize his father's aspirations.

On Saturday, a prayer meeting was held to honour the birth

anniversary of former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, during which Parvesh

Verma conducted a havan in remembrance of his father. The event was attended by

Delhi BJP ministers and numerous senior leaders, including Manjinder Singh

Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, Mohan Singh Bisht, Ravindra Indraj Singh, Ashish Sood, as

well as MLAs Ajay Mahawar, Manoj Shaukeen, and Gajendra Daral.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reflected on her sentiments

regarding Sahib Singh Verma and acknowledged his significant contributions. She

stated, I feel privileged to have the chance to continue the initiatives

he began. It is our duty to advance Delhi's development. Additionally,

Rekha Gupta recounted a personal memory from her student days, recalling that

Sahib Singh Verma personally congratulated her when she assumed the presidency

of the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU).

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reflected on her sentiments

regarding Sahib Singh Verma and acknowledged his significant contributions. She

stated, I feel privileged to have the chance to continue the initiatives

he began. It is our duty to advance Delhi on the path of progress. Rekha

Gupta recounted a personal memory from her university days when Sahib Singh

Verma personally congratulated her upon her election as president of the Delhi

University Students Union (DUSU). She added, Today, his daughter serves as

the Chief Minister of Delhi, while his son, Parvesh Verma, holds a ministerial

position. The circumstances could have been different, but in our culture, the

elder sister is accorded precedence. Together, we are dedicated to realizing

the vision of Delhi that Sahib Singh Verma envisioned.

On this occasion, Delhi government minister Parvesh Verma

made a solemn vow to realize his father's unfulfilled aspirations and

reaffirmed his dedication to advancing Delhi's progress under the guidance of

Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated, My father dedicated his entire

life to serving Delhi. It is now my duty to bring his unfinished projects to

fruition. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, we will turn his

dreams into reality and propel Delhi forward. It is important to note

that Parvesh Verma recently triumphed over Aam Aadmi Party national convenor

and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi assembly election,

winning by a margin of over 4,000 votes.
