Patna, March 15 (H.S.): The Bihar police department is reeling from the shocking murders of two officers, ASI Rajeev Ranjan on March 13 and ASI Santosh Kumar Singh the following night. SP Syed Imran Masood confirmed the arrest of Guddu Yadav, the primary suspect in Singh's murder, along with three others.

During a police operation to apprehend additional suspects based on Yadav’s information, a police vehicle crashed into a tree, injuring officers. Attempting to escape, Yadav seized a policeman's gun and threatened law enforcement, eventually being shot in the leg when he failed to heed warnings.

ASI Singh was honored posthumously by officials including DIG Rakesh Kumar. SP Masood noted seven named suspects, with others still unidentified.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha condemned the incident as tragic and emphasized the need to combat crime and corruption. Senior BJP leader Prem Kumar assured strict punishment for those involved.

The RJD criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming the law and order situation is dire, questioning the safety of police and citizens alike following these events.
