NEW DELHI, 15 March (H.S.) : The national spokesperson for the Bhartiya Kisan Union,
Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait met with a car accident near the Muzaffarnagar
Mirapur bypass while travelling from Delhi. The incident occurred when a Nilgai
suddenly appeared in the path of the vehicle. Fortunately, Rakesh Tikait
escaped from the accident unscathed, crediting the timely deployment of the
airbag for safeguarding both himself and his driver. Rakesh Tikait underscored
the critical importance of wearing seat belts while driving. He noted that had
he not secured his seat belt, the consequences could have been dire.
He said, thankfully, both he and the driver were buckled in, which ensured that they
suffered no injuries at all.
After the incident, Rakesh Tikait reported that he was on
his way to an event in Sisauli when the accident took place around 8 o'clock,
characterizing the occurrence as unforeseen. The gunner, who was positioned in
the back without a seat belt, suffered injuries due to the incident.
Furthermore, Rakesh Tikait advised all drivers to keep their speed below 100
and recommended that everyone wear seat belts while driving.
