New Delhi, March 15 (HS): Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has called a meeting on March 18 with the Home Secretary, the Secretary of the Legislative Department, and the CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to discuss the issue of linking the voter photo identity card (E-PIC) with Aadhaar.

According to sources, this meeting regarding the linking of E-PIC and Aadhaar will take place at the Election Commission on March 18.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has invited suggestions from all national and state political parties by April 30 to address any unresolved electoral issues at the level of Election Registration Officers (ERO), District Election Officers (DEO), or Chief Election Officers (CEO).

As per notes sent to the Chief Election Officers (CEO) of all states and Union Territories, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has instructed officials to make all efforts to link the Aadhaar number with the voter list data. This directive was included in a document accompanying the inaugural speech of the Chief Election Commissioner during the CEO conference on March 4.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has previously emphasized linking Aadhaar and mobile numbers to ensure proper identification of voters and necessary communication.
