Rudraprayag, March 14 (HS) : A group of 30 women from the district, associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission, recently completed a four-day educational tour in Delhi. They departed from Ukhimath on March 7, inspecting the Indian Agricultural Research Institute and the Amrit Udyan at the Presidential Residence, where they gained valuable knowledge about modern agriculture.
On March 8, they visited the Agricultural Technology and Women Empowerment Training and Research Center in Pusa, receiving insights on seasonal and off-season farming practices.
The women participated in the Amrit Mahotsav event at Amrit Udyan and interactions with other women’s groups from various states. They learned about protected farming, organic farming, nutritional security, and crop diversification while discussing women's entrepreneurship and technological innovations.
Guided by Livelihood Assistant Manager Anupam Rayal and finance expert Nand Kishore Thapliyal, the tour aimed to enhance vegetable and cash crop production in rural areas.
