Ahmedabad, 8 February (HS): A fire broke out at the construction site of Sabarmati Bullet Train Station in Ahmedabad on Saturday morning. Seeing the fire, there was a stampede among the workers working there. They somehow saved their lives by running away. 14 fire brigade vehicles controlled the fire after a lot of effort. There is no news of any loss of life in the incident.

Inayat Sheikh, Divisional Fire Officer of Ahmedabad Fire Brigade, said that a call was received about the fire incident at the construction site of Sabarmati Bullet Train at 6.30 am. After this, fire engines were first sent to the spot from Sabarmati and Chandkheda fire stations. After this, 14 vehicles were dispatched from places including Shahpur, Navrangpura, Maninagar, Jamalpur. The work of filling the roof was going on at the construction site. Meanwhile, the spark of welding flew on the wood, which caused the fire.

According to another fire brigade employee, the workers told that during the welding work, the spark fell on the pile of wood, after which the fire took a terrible form due to the high speed of the wind.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, the senior officers of the project reached the spot. According to the project officer, the primary cause of the fire could be the spark from welding during the temporary shuttering work. The fire brigade personnel took immediate action and extinguished the fire. There has been no loss of life.
