Banerjee alleges, Budget is anti-Bangla. Trinamool Congress general
secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Friday termed the Union Budget as 'anti-Bangla
budget' and alleged that this government has handed over the economy to the
'Ravana of crony capitalism' and has misled the common man of the country 'like
Sita Mata'. He alleged that this is an 'anti-Bangla budget' and an attempt has
been made to stop the development and prosperity of West Bengal. Banerjee said
that there was talk of giving relief in income tax to attract the attention of
the common man, but cuts in indirect taxes, schemes and favour to corporates are
there.
Trinamool’s second in Command
said that 'Maa Sita was misled at the time of her abduction, in the same way
the common man has been misled and dragged from financial stability to
financial troubles.' Banerjee alleged that the economy has been handed over to
the Ravana of 'crony capitalism'. He claimed that the NDA government is a great
example of incomplete truth. The target of doubling the income of farmers was
not achieved, houses were not completed and other promises also remained
incomplete. The incomplete agenda has been presented like propaganda.
While participating in the
discussion on the Union Budget in the Lok Sabha, he also alleged that the
Central Government has not only neglected West Bengal but has also tried to
block the development of the state. Banerjee alleged that the Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP) is the master of 'Reverse Robinhood' which gives from the poor to
the rich. Banerjee said the government is practicing 'incomplete federalism' as
it gives priority to Bihar and ignores West Bengal.
The Lok Sabha MP from
Trinamool Congress, alleged that the people of Bengal have been betrayed.
Banerjee said that nothing was done in the budget on the demand of legal
guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers and loan waiver and no
relief was given to the farmers.
