Bhubaneswar, 7 February (H.S.): In an effort to enhance the working conditions of traffic police personnel who frequently face extreme weather, the Odisha Government today inaugurated 22 traffic aid posts at key locations throughout Bhubaneswar.

The initiative was launched by Odisha Housing & Urban Development Minister and Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) Chairman, Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, during an event in Khandagiri. These newly established posts are designed to provide essential facilities that will enable traffic personnel to carry out their duties more effectively.

Situated at major junctions across the city, the aid posts are equipped with amenities such as toilet facilities, shaded rest areas, and unobstructed views for efficient traffic monitoring. Constructed at a cost of Rs 2.6 crore, these 22 posts have now been handed over to the Commissionerate Police.

The posts will provide traffic officers with designated resting areas, allowing them to take breaks while managing traffic at busy intersections. Alongside rest rooms, these posts also feature drinking water facilities to ensure the comfort and well-being of the personnel.

The event was attended by Bhubaneswar-Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police Dr. Umashankar Dash, BDA Vice Chairman N. Thirumala Naik, and several senior BDA officials.
