New Delhi, 5 February (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Karim Aga Khan, the religious leader of Shia Ismaili Muslims. The Prime Minister described him as a visionary, dedicated to spirituality and service. He said that his contribution in the field of education, health, rural development, women empowerment will always inspire people.

In an ex-post, the Prime Minister said that he will always cherish the conversation with Karim Aga Khan in his memories. He expresses his heartfelt condolences to his family and his millions of followers and fans around the world.

Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili faction of Shia Muslims, died at the age of 88 in Lisbon (Portugal) among his family. His three sons and a daughter were present with him at the last moment. He was the 49th Imam of Ismaili Muslims. In his life, as a billionaire donor, he funded many projects to build houses, hospitals and schools.
