Jammu, 26 February (H.S.): Shakti Udghosh Foundation (SUF) announced an all women motorbike expedition covering 820 km across J&K from Kathua to Poonch with a goal to raise awareness about drug abuse and trafficking along the border areas from March 1 to 4, 2025.
Addressing a press conference here today Preeti Choudhary, SUF Founder informed that this bold initiative aims to reach 229 villages, creating awareness about the devastating effects of drugs and promoting message of ‘Nasha Mukt Seemayen’ (drug-free borders).
“This initiative will bring together people from across India to fight the rising drug menace and secure a safe future for our youth,” she said.
Preeti said that riders from across India, including those from Chennai, Vijayawada and Punjab will join hands with local bikers to take part in this mission.
“The expedition will serve as a powerful demonstration of solidarity and determination to tackle the drug abuse, raise awareness and stand against the forces facilitating this menace,” she maintained adding: “The expedition will cover some of the most remote and challenging terrains in J&K and the participants will engage with locals at every stop to spread the message of drug-free future.”
“We are proud to lead this campaign, bringing together women bikers from different States to stand for a cause,” said SUF coordinator, Divya Sharma.
A handout stated that Action Aid J&K Chapter is also collaborating with SUF in this regard.
