Jaipur, 25 February (HS): Speaker of Rajasthan Assembly Vasudev Devnani started crying in the House on Tuesday. He accused Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara of insulting him and using abusive language.
Devnani said, I have also been coming to the House for five times, I have never heard such words. I have never been biased but still it hurts when such allegations are made.
After hearing all this, I also feel that he is not even eligible to become an MLA, but I leave this decision to the House. Speaker Vasudev Devnani became emotional during the proceedings of the House after the boycott of Congress in the Assembly.
Devnani gave clarification regarding the uproar inside the House after alleged insulting words against former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Congress MLAs are completely responsible for the deadlock. He said I tried my best to resolve the deadlock but the Congress MLAs did not follow their word as per the agreement. While saying this in the House, the Speaker's throat choked twice and tears also flowed.
He said,I am deeply hurt by the kind of language spoken yesterday. Such a member is not fit to stay in the Assembly. From now on, if any member violates the dignity of the chair, he will be automatically considered suspended.
He said that if any member reaches the Speaker's dias or behaves disorderly, he will be automatically considered suspended. Now there will be no need to bring any proposal for this.
He said,I have never been biased and will never do so. You took a small worker to the Speaker's chair, but I have not become the Speaker to hear such words. After this emotional statement of the Speaker, there was silence in the House for some Time.
Devnani also expressed deep concern over the suspended Congress MLA Govind Singh Dotasara using abusive words after seeing the chair in the Assembly. He said that the chair should be respected and he feels that such a public representative should never have the right to come to the House. However, the House will decide what action should be taken against an MLA with such conduct.
After Devnani's emotional statement, some MLAs from the ruling party raised the demand to cancel the membership of Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara. BJP MLAs said that if a member repeatedly violates the dignity of the House, then his membership should be reconsidered.
After Devnani became emotional, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma reached his chamber. Many ministers and BJP MLAs present in the Assembly also reached with him. The Chief Minister met him and discussed about maintaining the dignity of the House and ending the deadlock.
