New Delhi, 24 February (HS): Pressure is seen in the domestic stock market during early trade. Today's trade also started with a decline. After the market opened, the stock market saw a slight rise for some time with the support of buying, but after a while due to the pressure of selling, both the Sensex and Nifty indices fell by more than 1 percent. After the first 1 hour of trading, the Sensex was trading with a decline of 0.97 percent and the Nifty with a decline of 0.99 percent.

After the first 1 hour of trading,among the big stocks of the stock market, the shares of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Eicher Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, BPCL and Sun Pharmaceuticals were trading with strength ranging from 1.27 percent to 0.75 percent. On the other hand, shares of HCL Technology, Wipro, Shriram Finance, Infosys and Tech Mahindra were seen trading with a decline of 2.74 percent to 1.72 percent.

So far, active trading was taking place in 2,483 shares in the stock market. Out of these, 437 shares were trading in the green mark by making profits, while 2,046 shares were trading in the red mark by suffering losses. Similarly, out of the 30 stocks included in the Sensex, 6 shares remained in the green mark with the support of buying. On the other hand, 24 shares were trading in the red mark due to selling pressure. While out of the 50 stocks included in the Nifty, 11 shares were seen trading in the green mark and 39 shares in the red mark.

The BSE Sensex opened today with a weakness of 417.61 points at 74,893.45 points. As soon as the trading started, with the support of buying, this index rose marginally to the level of 74,907.04 points, but after this there was selling pressure in the market, due to which this index kept falling. Due to continuous selling, this index fell to the level of 74,541.63 points. After the initial 1 hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, the Sensex was trading at a level of 74,583.73 points with a decline of 727.33 points.

Like the Sensex, NSE's Nifty today started trading at a level of 22,609.35 points, falling 186.55 points. After the market opened, with the support of buying, this index jumped about 60 points from the opening level to reach the level of 22,668.05 points. However, after a while the sellers put pressure in the market. Due to continuous selling, the index slipped to 22,560.30 shortly after 10 am. After the initial 1 hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, Nifty was trading at 22,570.20 points with a weakness of 225.70 points.

Earlier on Friday, the last trading day of last week, the Sensex closed at 75,311.06 points with a weakness of 424.90 points i.e. 0.56 percent. At the same time, Nifty ended Friday's trading at 22,795.90 points with a decline of 117.25 points i.e. 0.51 percent.
