Solapur, 24 Feb (HS):- A 300-year-old inscription was
detected at historical ‘Golghumat’ in Pandharpur by a history teacher. The
teacher has appealed to the experts from the Archaeological Department to study
the inscription in detail. The inscription in Modi script indicate that the
dome was built in Bahirji Patil during the Nizam rule, probably in 1712.
The Golghumat situated on the banks of Bhima River
in Chale village, has remained neglected. The history lover teacher Dattatrey
Sarik from Darling Vidya Mandir went to the site and examined the inscription out
of curiosity. Following inquiry with the villagers, Sarik has appealed to the
Archaeologists to study the historical inscription and the dome.
