NEW DELHI, 22 February (H.S.) : The 101st convocation

ceremony of Delhi University is being organized today on Saturday. Education

Minister of Government of India, Dharmendra Pradhan will be the chief guest in

this ceremony. The ceremony will be presided over by the Vice Chancellor of

Delhi University, Prof. Yogesh Singh. DU's controller of examinations, Prof.

Gurpreet Singh Tuteja said that the program will be organized in the

multipurpose hall located at the sports complex of Delhi University. He

informed that a total of 194 gold and silver medals and awards will be given

during the convocation ceremony. In this ceremony, UG, PG and PhD students

completing their degrees in 2024 will be awarded.

Pro. Gurpreet Singh Tuteja

said that a total of 159 gold medals and one silver medal will be awarded to UG

and PG students. Similarly, a total of 34 awards will be given to UG and PG

students. He said, a total of 494 students, including 248 male and 246 female

students, will be awarded PhD degrees. He said, a total of 77446 UG, 6812 PG

and 29 five-year program students, including regular students of DU and

students of Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB), will be awarded

degrees. In this way, degrees will be awarded to a total of more than 84700

students.

Last year, during the

convocation ceremony of DU, degrees were awarded to a total of 1 lakh, 38

thousand, 20 UG and PG students who completed their degrees in the year 2023. In

the 100th convocation of DU, PhD degrees were awarded to 659 students.
